The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) has stated that it will conduct physical checks on passengers wearing head coverings.

ACSA AND HEAD COVERINGS
Acsa announced on X (formerly, Twitter) on Tuesday, April 23, that it would mandate physical searches for anyone wearing a head covering.
As part of ACSA’s security measures, individuals wearing headwraps, hijabs, burkas, or niqabs will undergo a physical search.
The measure forms part of the company’s efforts to enhance security at its airports.
The company states that physical searches may be conducted private spaces upon request.
