Flight attendants are masters of safety and service in the air.

The day is also known as ‘World Cabin Crew Appreciation Day.’

It was first started by a Canadian flight attendant union to highlight the role of cabin crew

It also recognizes cabin crew for their hard work and dedication to their profession.

AMBASSADORS IN THE AIR

For the travelling public, flight attendants, are known for their compassion and welcoming energy.

They are recognized as worldwide ambassadors for countries and airlines, often being the face of the company.

A MISCONCEPTION ABOUT FLIGHT ATTENDANTS

There is a passenger misconception about the role of flight attendants, who are not there just to provide meals and drinks.

They are there to ensure that a flight is safe, secure, and uneventful.

In aviation, flight attendants must commit to providing safety and customer service to passengers.

Moreover, they must always be ready to act during any crisis or emergency that presents itself while on duty.

DEMANDS OF THE JOB

Flight attendants may work long hours while serving people from all walks of life on flights.

They often spend periods of time away from their own families and homes, while serving others.

Flight attendants must stand ready in times of celebration, grief, and times of battle to do their part, to make a difference in the lives of those with whom they come in contact. 

UPSIDE TO THE JOB

However, it is not only hard work. There are some exciting elements to the role.

The job would not attract so many candidates if there were no upsides to joining the profession.

Many individuals, young and old, men and women, are attracted to the profession.

DESIRABLE PROFESSION FOR MANY

This is often due to a desire to travel the world and interact with people from all over the globe.

Furthermore, the chance to spend time in some of the world’s best hotels, in some of the most exciting cities is another thing that draws people to the profession.
