SAA LAUNCHES FLIGHTS BETWEEN CAPE TOWN AND MAURITIUS

The airline will offer up to three scheduled services per week on the route.

Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the high season.

A temporary adjustment to this service will be made between mid-January and mid-March 2026, when the service will operate twice weekly. This is due to changes in demand for this service.

The first departure is set for Tuesday, 9 December 2025.

Flight SA 194 departs Cape Town at 09:25, arriving in Mauritius at 16:30.

Flight SA 195 departs Mauritius at 17:20, arriving back in Cape Town at 21:30.

Flights are scheduled to be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft.

A POPULAR ISLAND GETAWAY

Mauritius is a perennial favourite for South Africans as well as international travellers who often join Cape Town with an Indian Ocean island getaway.

A number of honeymooners combine Cape Town and Mauritius in a single trip.

The island is indeed popular with honeymooners. Its sandy beaches, luxurious hotels and epic landscapes make it an ideal honeymoon destination.

South African Airways currently operates flights from its Johannesburg hub to the Indian Ocean island.

The introduction of these Cape Town – Mauritius flights is indeed the first time that South African Airways will operate its services on the route.

The launch of this route marks strategic expansion the airline and enhances connectivity for travellers in the Western Cape.

“Connecting Cape Town with Mauritius is a fascinating achievement that our team has been aspiring towards for quite some time. The introduction of this route demonstrates SAA’s role in promoting leisure travel across the region and supports the broader tourism objectives for both South Africa and Mauritius. Passengers can look forward to experiencing SAA’s signature warm hospitality and world-class service on every flight,” says SAA Chief Executive Officer, Professor John Lamola.
