Airlink will launch direct flights between Cape Town and Mauritius in October.
New Airlink Route : Cape Town – Mauritius
The airline will operate two weekly flights between Cape Town and Mauritius from 2 October 2026.
Airlink will serve this route with brand new, state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 flagship aircraft.
The jet accommodates 124 passengers in a two class cabin configuration – 12 business class seats as well as 112 economy seats (with only window and aisle seats – there are no middle seats on any Airlink flights).
“Our new flagship aircraft, the E195-E2, makes it possible for Airlink to conveniently connect Cape Town with Mauritius. Cape Town is also an important source market and connecting hub for leisure and business travel wanting to travel to the island while avoiding the hassle and additional time connecting in Johannesburg,” said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.
Expanded Air Connectivity
Cape Town is indeed a popular global tourist destination and its airport is fast becoming a significant aviation hub with growing traffic from domestic and international carriers.
The city is Airlink’s second hub with domestic and regional flights as well as long-haul connections with Airlink’s partner airlines from around the world.
Airlink’s schedule for this new route is also being designed so that leisure travellers will be able to maximise their holiday time and for corporate travellers to enhance their business itineraries without disruptive middle-of-the-night or pre-dawn departures or arrivals.
Mauritius : Indian Ocean Paradise
Mauritius’s legendary beach resorts, golf courses and visa on arrival system for citizens of over 140 countries, continue to make it popular with tourists.
At the same time, the island nation’s thriving sophisticated economy, which spans IT, financial services, textile manufacturing as well as traditional sugar farming and fishing – along with its tax and offshore business incentives – has transformed it into a key investment and trade centre.
Indian Ocean Expansion
Airlink is growing its footprint across the Indian Ocean. It already fies to islands in the Mozambique Channel and to Madagascar, from Johannesburg.
The premium service airline will operate flights to two additional Indian Ocean Islands before the end of this year.
Airlink has recently launched year-round flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar. It will also introduce flights between Cape Town and Zanzibar in October.
