South African budget airline FlySafair will not accept cash for onboard purchases from 17 April.
The low-cost carrier has announced that it will no longer take cash payments for inflight purchases.
SHIFT TO CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS
The move is not surprising given the general global shift towards becoming a cashless society.
Cashless transactions are actually easier for staff as well as for customers making payments for purchases.
FLYSAFAIR’S INFLIGHT SERVICES
The carrier is embracing the future by moving to cashless onboard transactions.
Less time is wasted during inflight cabin services since staff do not have to handle cash or find change for passengers who pay with large notes.
Moreover, while cashless transactions enable speedy and more convenient services for passengers, they also enhance security.
FLYSAFAIR IMPROVES INFLIGHT PASSENGER SERVICE
The airline says that the initiative will help to improve inflight experiences for passengers.
Inflight purchases are accepted through tap and pay or swiping of cards on flights. However, meal vouchers are also accepted. These can also be added to online flight bookings.
NEW FLYSAFAIR ROUTE
The budget carrier recently launched scheduled flights between two of South Africa and indeed, the world’s prime tourist destinations.
The twice-weekly flights enable budget-friendly and time-saving connectivity between Cape Town and the world-famous Kruger National Park.
