The initiative aims to certify the environmental benefits of reducing COâ‚‚ emissions through Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

CORPORATES COLLABORATE WITH JAPAN AIRLINES

According to TTW, this program will be offered to corporations in Japan who make use of the airline’s flights.

Ultimately, this helps to decarbonize the aviation sector and reduces aviation’s environmental impact.

CERTIFIED CONTRIBUTIONS

Using this programme, the airline will monitor and manage COâ‚‚ reduction data using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) certificates, which certify the achieved COâ‚‚ reduction rate through SAF utilization.

Moreover, to ensure transparency and credibility, the certificates will be validated by third-party entities.

They will be issued and offered to corporate clients seeking environmental benefits.

BENEFITS FOR CORPORATE CUSTOMERS

Participation in this program allows corporate clients to track and reduce carbon footprints from air travel for cargo shipments and employee business trips.

Furthermore, these certificates will assist in disclosing and calculating COâ‚‚ emission reductions, as required by regulating authorities.

JAPAN AIRLINES COMMITMENT

Japan Airlines has dedicated its efforts to reducing direct (Scope 1) carbon emissions from aircraft operations and indirect (Scope 2) carbon emissions.

Through this new initiative, the airline aims to decrease Scope 3 emissions. These relate to carbon emissions from other companies associated with Japan Airlines’ activities.

SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL

The JAL Group aims to substitute 1% of total onboard fuel with SAF by 2025.

In addition, it plans to increase the figure to 10% by 2030.

To achieve this, the company will advance SAF procurement both domestically and internationally.
