Malawi Airlines will introduce three additional weekly flights from Lilongwe to Johannesburg.

MALAWI AIRLINES OFFERS MORE JOHANNESBURG FLIGHTS
The added flights will begin on 6 December. They will operate on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
These new flights will depart Lilongwe at 10h20 and arrive in Johannesburg at 12h35. The return flight, on the same days, will depart Johannesburg at 13h25 and arrive in Lilongwe at 15h40.
These services are in addition to the airline’s daily Lilongwe-Johannesburg flights via Blantyre.
The expansion thus increases the carrier’s Johannesburg services to 10 flights per week.
There is significant demand between the two countries, with capacity still not yet at pre-pandemic levels.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic South African Airways operated four weekly services to Blantyre and seven to Lilongwe.
Malawi Airlines also operated flights on the route with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
South Africa’s privately owned airline, Airlink, also now operates flights between Johannesburg and Malawi.
It will be increasing frequencies between Johannesburg and Blantyre. From 3 December Airlink will operate a daily rotation on the route.
