Singapore Airlines to increase frequencies to Johannesburg

Singapore’s national airline, Singapore Airlines, will add extra frequencies on its Johannesburg route.

Singapore Airlines will increase frequencies between its hub and Johannesburg in South Africa – on a seasonal basis.

The airline operates scheduled services to Johannesburg and Cape Town on a year-round basis. Cape Town is operated as a tag-on flight to the existing Johannesburg service.

SINGAPORE AIRLINES

The airline, which currently offers daily flights between Singapore and Johannesburg will add an additional three weekly flights on this route.

The award-winning airline operates the route with a next-generation aircraft.

Singapore Airlines serves Johannesburg with an Airbus A350-900 seating 253 passengers in Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes.

ADDITIONAL JOHANNESBURG FLIGHTS

Initially, the three additional weekly flights will operate from 11 December 2024 to 10 January 2025.

In fact, this is to handle increased passenger loads for the holiday season.

Then, from 2 April 2025 to 24 October 2025, Singapore Airlines will also increase its total number of flights to Johannesburg to 10 times a week.

INCREASED PASSENGER DEMAND

These enhancements are in place to cater to increased passenger demand at different times of the year.

Singapore Airlines will increase flight frequencies and boost passenger capacity across its network in the 2025 Northern Summer operating season (30 March to 25 October 2025), supporting the higher demand for air travel to several popular destinations.

According to AeroNewsGlobal, Singapore Airlines will also offer more direct flights between Singapore and various European cities.

From 30 March 2025, Singapore Airlines will operate daily flights to London Gatwick. With its four daily flights to London Heathrow, this means the airline offers 5 daily flights into London.

Singapore Airlines will also increase its Rome flights to 5 times a week between 26 June 2025 and 28 August 2025.

However, the airline will suspend services to Houston via Manchester from 1 April 2025.

That said, Singapore Airlines will maintain five weekly services between Singapore and Manchester.
