The Chicago-based airline has ramped up frequencies from three times a week to nearly seven times a week, reflecting a 62 percent year-over-year increase in seats.

In fact, United offers more one-stop connections from Accra than any other US airline.

“We are proud to not only offer our customers in Ghana even greater travel choice when booking their next US getaway, but also provide convenient one-stop connections to over 70 destinations across the Americas, including Chicago, Columbus, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas.” said Oluwatomi Bola-Sadipe, United’s Country Sales Manager Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.

United is indeed the only airline serving Accra nonstop from Washington DC.

Moreover, next year it will fly from more destinations in Africa than any other US carrier.

UNITED AIRLINES RAMPS UP ACCRA FLIGHTS

The increase in flights from Accra to Washington DC comes as United expands its presence in Africa, announcing a new route from Dakar to Washington DC for 2025 (subject to government approval), as well as recently launching its brand-new seasonal service from Marrakesh to New York/Newark.

United is the first and only airline to operate nonstop flights from Marrakesh to the United States, which builds on existing routes from Cape Town, South Africa to New York/Newark and Washington DC; Johannesburg, South Africa to New York/Newark; Lagos, Nigeria to Washington DC; as well as Accra, Ghana to Washington D.C.

“Africa continues to be an integral part of United’s global network and we are delighted to announce an increase of flights from Accra to Washington Dulles,” Bola-Sadipe said.
