Tanzania’s national carrier, Air Tanzania, will begin flying Dar es Salaam and Cape Town this month.
Air Tanzania will offer scheduled services between Dar es Salaam and Cape Town from 11 December.
The route, which launches during Cape Town’s summer peak season, supports travel demand and reflects the modernisation and expansion of airline operators in Africa.
Air Tanzania will operate two weekly flights on this new route.
CAPE TOWN: AIR TANZANIA TRIANGULAR ROUTING
The service will operate as a triangular route, including a stop in Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) before continuing to Cape Town.
However, the flight will return directly to Dar es Salaam from Cape Town.
Flights will be operated with an Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
This new service indeed opens up a gateway between Tanzania and Cape Town.
Travellers from Cape Town can also connect (via Dar es Salaam) to various other destinations including Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Lagos, as well as Guangzhou in China with Air Tanzania.
This service is expected to boost intra-African trade and investment as well as supporting growth in tourism.
