The Nairobi-based carrier will thus be able to enhance operations on its route network.

Operating out of Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, AirKenya Express offers scheduled domestic and charter services, as well as scheduled flights to Tanzania.

The airline is key to East Africa’s tourism sector as it services numerous destinations on the safari route network within Kenya.

The De Havilland Dash 8 aircraft, registered 5Y-DBA, arrived at Nairobi’s Wilson Airport at 16.00 on 28 April.

It received a customary water cannon salute on arrival.

AirKenya staff were also on site to celebrate the occasion.
