SA RUGBY ON SAA

South Africa’s national carrier affords passengers the opportunity to view Chasing the Sun, a documentary tracing South Africa’s journey to Rugby World Cup glory, on certain flights.

“It is more than rugby. It is the story of South Africa, told through the game we love.” SAA says.

Passengers can expect:

Behind the scenes access to the Springboks’ toughest battles,

Raw, emotional stories from Springbok players,

Never before seen glimpses into the leadership style of Rassie Erasmus,

A powerful reminder of hope, unity and belief that can change everything.

CHASING THE SUN

The award-winning Springboks and Super Sport documentary is now available on Airscape, South African Airways’ inflight entertainment system.

This 5-part rugby story is available on aircraft where inflight entertainment is provided.

South African Airways operates a fleet of Airbus aircraft. This includes numerous Airbus A320s, three Airbus A300s and two Airbus A340s.

Chasing the Sun is available on SAA’s medium and long haul flights that are operated by aircraft fitted with inflight entertainment systems.

RUGBY IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Springboks are undoubtedly ranked amongst the top rugby teams in the world.

Since returning to the international sport scene in 1994, South Africa’s national rugby team, the Springboks, have proven time and again that they are amongst the best.

Nelson Mandela, the first president of democratic South Africa, used sport to unite the nation. His support for the country’s national rugby team was unfaltering.

And, to this day, rugby continues to unite South Africans.
