Zimbabwe’s private airline, Fastjet Zimbabwe, will operate an additional service between Johannesburg and Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare.

Speaking at the Sanganai Hlanganani Kumbanayi Tourism Expo taking place in Mutare, Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesman, Nunurai Ndawana said, “Aviation is a catalyst for economic development, we believe our morning service will contribute to the smooth movement of business people, therefore strengthening the trade relations between Johannesburg and Harare”.
NEW MORNING FASTJET FLIGHT : JOHANNESBURG – HARARE
The airline will introduce an early morning flight between Johannesburg and Harare.
Fastjet will also offer an additional flight between Harare and Johannesburg in the evening.
The new service facilitates same day return trips to Harare, from Johannesburg.
This means that the airline will operate up to four frequencies per day on this popular route, depending on the day of the week.
“We are always looking at providing our customers with flexible flight times to better suit their travel needs. In the past months, we have witnessed a growing demand from businesspeople for an early morning departure from Johannesburg to Harare. Our fastjet flight FN8220 now allows our customers an early morning departure from Johannesburg, resulting in a full business day in Harare”. Vivian Ruwuya, Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Chief Commercial Officer said.

FLIGHT SCHEDULE
This service will begin on 29 September 2025. It will operate daily, with the exception of Saturdays.
Flights will be operated with an Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
Flight FN 8220 departs Johannesburg at 06:55, arriving in Harare at 08:40.
Flight FN 8337 departs Harare at 19:00, arriving in Johannesburg at 20:50.
Fastjet Zimbabwe has grown its route network this year, adding various new services.
In April the airline introduced thrice weekly flights between Harare and Lusaka, Zambia.
Fastjet also launched services between Victoria Falls and Bulawayo last month. These are operated four times a week.
