FlySafair will launch scheduled flights to Hoedspruit in October this year.

FLYSAFAIR TO START HOEDSPRUIT FLIGHTS
The budget carrier first introduced flights to the Kruger region in April last year.
It launched flights between Cape Town and Kruger Mpumlanga International Airport (Mbombela) on 2 April 2024.
Then, the airline introduced scheduled services from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport to the Kruger in August last year.
FlySafair will thus enhance access to the central Kruger region and the wider Limpopo province, with its new Hoedspruit service.
BOOST FOR SAFARI TOURISM
The carrier will now head to its second safari destination, Hoedspruit’s Eastgate Airport.
The airport is situated in Limpopo Province, alongside the Kruger National Park and is strategically located for tourism and wildlife enthusiasts.
Significantly, it serves as a gateway to the Kruger National Park and surrounding areas. Hoedspruit, located near the central Kruger and bordering Limpopo, is also surrounded by private game reserves.
“Hoedspruit is a gateway to the Kruger National Park and surrounding private reserves, and we’re proud to offer travellers a more affordable and convenient way to reach this incredible region,” said Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair.
The airport has a single runway and offers both domestic and limited international flights. It provides services for commercial airlines as well as charter flights. Airlink and Cemair operate scheduled services to Hoedspruit Airport.
FlySafair will introduce flights to Hoedspruit from Cape Town in October. The service will also be operated with a Boeing 737 aircraft.
Flights will operate three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The first flight departs Cape Town on 2 October 2025.
