On 21 May, passengers on two of Lift’s scheduled flights were treated to an unforgettable Dutch-inspired onboard experience.
To showcase a little Dutch flair, passengers were afforded fun inflight entertainment and some well-known Dutch products and merchandise.
Passengers on the Lift flights were treated to a few rounds of bingo, traditional Dutch stroopwafels and chocolates from Dutch chocolatier Tony’s Chocolonely.
There were also giveaways from Dutch designer clothing company G-Star Raw.
In addition, there were some free KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight tickets up for grabs.
The activation was about joy, surprise, and celebrating the joy of flying. This is something that is at the heart of both KLM and Lift Airline.
Lift came onto the South African aviation scene in December 2020, amid lockdown restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since its founding the low-cost airline has sought to do things differently.
It regularly surprises passengers with bespoke inflight experiences such as fashion shows, silent discos, book launches, live music performances and more.
Being a budget carrier, Lift aims to offer low fares but it also offers value to its passengers, through complimentary inflight snacks and beverages, the ability to refund tickets to a wallet (for future use) and also the possibility of carrying small pets in the aircraft cabin.
Lift flies between Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. It launched in December 2020 with flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flies from Amsterdam to Johannesburg and Cape Town. The airline has offered flights to South Africa for over 80 years.
