The German national airline will reintroduce flights between Munich and Johannesburg on 3 September.

The reintroduction of the route was announced in September last year, with flights initially slated for June 2024.

However, Lufthansa has said it has moved the start date to accommodate the additional routes it has now added.

“This year, we will further increase our services in South Africa. As of 3 September, we will launch the new Johannesburg to Munich route.”

SOUTHERN AFRICA

The Lufthansa Group of airlines is committed to Southern Africa.

“South Africa is of great importance to the Lufthansa Group. Our operation in the country over more than 55 years underscores this,” Koinzack said.

In recent years the carrier has ramped up its services to destinations in Southern and East Africa.

It has increased frequencies on various existing routes but will also establish and restart other flight routes.
