ASIAN AIRPORTS DOMINATE

Asia appears to be home to many of the world’s preferred airports according to the survey.

Airports in Singapore, Korea and Japan all feature within the top 5.

However, the overall winner has switched, with 12-time winner Singapore no longer coming in first place this year.

Singapore Changi Airport has been edged out of the top spot by the Middle East’s Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

Europe continued to have a strong showing, with Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich and Istanbul all maintaining positions in the top 10.

SKYTRAX AIRPORT SURVEY

Travellers from across the globe take part in the airport customer satisfaction survey to decide on winners. Over 100 customer nationalities participated in Skytrax’s 2023-2024 survey.

The Skytrax Airport Awards survey evaluates traveller experiences across different airport services and product key performance indicators – from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through to departure at the gate.

AWARD-WINNING AIRPORTS

Though some of the winning airports might not be everyone’s airports of choice, these airports are voted for by customers.

Moreover, a key component of the survey is for customers to make personal choices as to which airport they consider to be the best.

SKYTRAX WORLD AIRPORT AWARDS

The World Airport Awards began in 1999, when Skytrax launched its first global, airport customer satisfaction survey.

Thus, the awards are regarded as a quality benchmark for airports across the world. This is because they assess customer services and facilities used by customers at over 500 airports.
