Africa’s inaugural Glamping Expo is set to revolutionize the outdoor tourism and hospitality industry.
Scheduled for June 20-21, the groundbreaking event will take place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, uniting thought leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts from the glamping and regenerative tourism sectors.

Camping is an enjoyable (and more sustainable way to enjoy a destination) as it generally has less impact on the environment.
Thus, Glamping (camping with extra comforts) appeals to many tourists as the added comfort makes for an enhanced experience.
Under the theme “Reimagining Innovation & Regenerative Tourism,” the Glamping Expo will shine a spotlight on the global movement toward experiential, eco-conscious travel.
“The theme reflects the global focus on eco-tourism. However, we aim to take this a step further by exploring innovation and how the sector can contribute meaningfully to regenerative tourism,” said Gugu Sithole, Expo Lead.

As the first event of its kind on the continent, the Glamping Expo aims to showcase how glamping—a luxurious fusion of glamour and camping—is transforming the tourism industry.
“We’re thrilled to host Africa’s very first Glamping Expo. This is more than just an event—it’s a celebration of how tourism can evolve sustainably. The expo will explore innovative opportunities to redefine how people connect with nature and communities in meaningful ways,” Sithole added.

To ensure a successful event, the Glamping Expo has also enlisted an advisory board of industry leaders, including Dr. Eddy Khosa, Paul Gardiner, Professor Nellie Swart, Mandisa Silo, Hulisani Thabela, and Phindile Chirwa.
Together, they will steer the Expo toward delivering actionable insights and transformative strategies for the tourism industry.
