Swaziland’s Eswatini Air to commence new Lusaka route

Eswatini Air is set to launch new scheduled flights between Eswatini (Swaziland) and Lusaka (Zambia).

This new route will indeed be Eswatini Air’s fifth route as well as the third country served in its route network.

Currently, Eswatini Air operates scheduled flights from its hub to three destinations in South Africa and one in Zimbabwe.

Flights operate out of King Mswati III International Airport in Eswatini to:

  • OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Cape Town International Airport, South Africa
  • King Shaka International Airport in Durban, South Africa
  • Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare, Zimbabwe

ESWATINI AIR: NEW LUSAKA ROUTE

The regional carrier is set to expand its route network with new flights into Lusaka.

Direct flights will be operated to the Zambian capital using a narrowbody Embraer aircraft.

The Embraer Rejional Jet (ERJ 145) aircraft offers 50 seats in an all economy class configuration.

AIRLINE LAUNCH

Eswatini Air is the national airline of Eswatini, previously known as Swaziland.

The carrier launched services in March 2023, with just a single destination.

Initially, it operated flights to Johannesburg, twice a day.

Then, in April Eswatini Air began flying to Harare in Zimbabwe.

And, in June 2023 it started up services to two more cities in neighbouring South Africa: Durban and Cape Town.

Currently, the airline’s fleet consists of two Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft.
