TAAG Angola Airlines will launch flights to Guangzhou, China later this month. The inaugural flight is set for 23 June.

TAAG Guangzhou flights
The new flight will connect Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport and the city of Guangzhou.
“The launch of the Guangzhou route represents a strategic milestone in TAAG’s international expansion plan and reinforces the airline’s positioning as a key facilitator of connectivity between Africa and Asia, promoting the movement of people, business, and goods between the two markets.” TAAG said, per Aviation Business Journal.
Flight Schedule
DT 692 will depart Luanda on Tuesdays at 10:50; and arrives in Guangzhou at 07:50 the next morning.
DT 693 will depart Guangzhou at 00:15 on Fridays, and arrives in Luanda at 07:15 the same day.
Services will be operated using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Initially, the route will operate only once a week. However, there are expansion plans in the pielines as demand for the service grows.
Economic Growth
China is a key economic partner for Angola and direct air connectivity is said to grow the relationship further.
“China maintains strong bilateral relations with Angola, supported by a significant resident community, active corporate cooperation, and well-established economic exchanges across multiple strategic sectors. In this context, the new air link emerges as a relevant instrument for strengthening institutional, commercial, tourism, and cultural ties between the two countries.” TAAG said.
