European airlines, Air France and Virgin Atlantic, have resumed seasonal services to Cape Town.

Numerous airlines operate seasonal services into Cape Town, taking advantage of the city’s global appeal as a tourist destination with strong demand, during the city’s summer months.
These airlines play a pivotal role in South Africa’s tourism ecosystem, bringing valuable international tourists to the country during the peak season.
EUROPEAN AIRLINES HEAD BACK TO CAPE TOWN
This week both Virgin Atlantic and Air France have returned to Cape Town for the Southern Hemisphere summer season.
VIRGIN ATLANTIC
On 13 October, Virgin Atlantic resumed it seasonal service between London’s Heathrow Airport and Cape Town. The airline will operate a double overnight schedule between London and Cape Town until April 2026. The route is flown with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The United Kingdom is indeed an important tourism source market for South Africa, with a growing number of UK visitors making their way to South Africa this year.
The airline also flies directly into Johannesburg, on a year round basis.
AIR FRANCE
And on October 13, Air France also resumed direct flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Cape Town. Initially, it will offer three flights per flights per week on this route.
However, from next month the airline will increase frequencies on the route to five flights a week. And, between 16 December and 8 January, Air France will fly this route daily. This service is operated with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
France is also a significant source market for South Africa. The Western Cape, with its luxury accommodation and spread of tourist activities including the historic winelands, is appreciated by French visitors.
The airline also flies directly into Johannesburg, all year.
