AGS secures new Uganda Airlines contract

Fast-growing cargo and passenger handling company, Aviation Ground Service (AGS) has begun providing ground handling services for Uganda Airlines in Harare.

Starting Wednesday, 25 September 2024, when the airline launched its new triangular route (including Harare and Lusaka) AGS commenced the passenger handling of Uganda Airlines’ flights into Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare, Zimbabwe.

NEW UGANDA AIRLINES ROUTE

The East African carrier has launched four weekly flights from the Ugandan city of Entebbe, to Harare, one of Southern Africa’s economic hubs and gateways into the region.

The weekly flights will be operated using the airline’s modern fleet comprising Airbus A330-800neos and Bombardier CRJ-900s.

AGS PROVIDES GROUND HANDLING SERVICES

AGS was successful in winning the contract to serve Uganda Airlines as a new customer in Zimbabwe.

Caleb Mudyawabikwa, Managing Director of Aviation Ground Services said in a press release, “With Uganda Airlines we have entered the East African market. We are excited to add Uganda Airlines to our customer base. We aim to provide the airline with our world-class passenger and ground handling services while strengthening our ambitions to serve more airlines in Zimbabwe”.

This comes after demonstrating high standards in handling both passenger and cargo airlines across Zimbabwe’s major airports. These include Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.
