Air Mauritius makes leadership team shuffle to drive recovery

Air Mauritius intends to strengthen its commercial management with various new appointments in its leadership team.

As part of a strategic reorganisation, Air Mauritius has announced several key appointments, including that of Laurent Recoura as Chief Commercial Officer.

Recoura joins a renewed management team, including a new Head of Technical Services and an Interim Chief Financial Officer.

These appointments are part of a series of managerial changes announced by Kishore Beegoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Air Mauritius.

DRIVING RECOVERY AT AIR MAURITIUS

With significant experience in the aviation sector, Laurent Recoura will be responsible for boosting the company’s commercial strategy, at a time when air transport is experiencing a particularly dynamic post-pandemic recovery phase in the Indian Ocean.

The new sales director will have to manage the development of the company’s market share and optimize its revenues in a highly competitive context.

This appointment comes at a crucial time for Air Mauritius.

The Indian Ocean-based airline is looking to consolidate its position as the benchmark carrier in the region. It also seeks to expand its network to strategic destinations.

NEW LEADERSHIP AT AIR MAURITIUS

The Board of Directors, chaired by Kishore Beegoo, also appointed Ravindranath Ramroop as Head of Technical Services.

Furthermore, Mr Vijay Seetul will serve as Interim Chief Financial Officer.

This reorganization is complemented by the arrival of two high-level consultants.

Mr Chitranjan Ramdaursingh will be in charge of corporate finance, and Mr Dharmacharya Ramjutun will oversee strategic planning.

BRINGING SKILLS TO AIRLINE

These appointments are part of a desire to strengthen the company’s overall skills.

The technical department will ensure the optimization of the fleet – a crucial issue for the company’s profitability.

At the same time, the financial aspect has been considerably strengthened with the appointment of an interim CFO and the arrival of a consultant dedicated to finance.

Air Mauritius’ management is counting on this new management team to give Mauritius’ flag carrier a renewed impetus.
