Lufthansa Group airline, Brussels Airlines, which already operates flights between Brussels and Ghana’s capital, Accra, will up the frequency of this service to daily from June.

The airline’s country manager Ilse Adriaen, told Aviation Ghana that Brussels Airlines will offer daily flights between Brussels Zaventem Airport and Accra’s Kotoka International Airport as a result of having acquired additional aircraft.

ADDITIONAL AIRCRAFT ENABLE UPGAUGING

Brussels Airlines now has a fleet of 11 aircraft for its long-haul operations.

This is after it added additional aircraft.

Therefore, the airline now has eight Airbus A330s for its wide-body operations.

“In 2025, we added an eleventh aircraft to the long-haul fleet, so we have eight A330s. This year, the decision is to reinforce the network,” Adriaen said.

EXPANDING CAPACITY IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA

The carrier thus has the opportunity to expand operations and increase frequencies.

The airline intends to grow its capacity in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Thanks to the additional aircraft, Brussels Airlines will increase capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa by ten percent.

“I think we have really increased our capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa. We have 56 flights a week from Brussels to Sub-Saharan Africa,” Adriaen said.
