Here is a list of the ten busiest airports in the world, for the month of April 2024.

There appears to be a recovery in global travel, increasing passenger traffic in various parts of the world. This is good news for many airlines and airports now seeing more passengers.

USING FLIGHT SCHEDULE DATA

OAG (Official Aviation Guide of the Airways) has used flight schedule data to show which of the world’s airports are the busiest.

This is done by examining flight scheduling data to see which airports have the most seats due to depart this month, compared to 2023.

BUSIEST AIRPORTS IN THE WORLD

Coming in first place, with 5,207,792 seats scheduled to take off throughout April, is Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

This airport’s total capacity (international and domestic flights) is up three percent from last year. It has consistently ranked as the busiest hub in the world since 2021. 

In second place is Dubai International Airport, which has 4,879,128 seats scheduled, and in third is Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport, with 4,460,693 seats.

CALCULATING WORLD’S BUSIEST AIRPORTS

The list of Busiest Global Airports in the World is calculated using total airline capacity for domestic and international flights.

The rankings are based on scheduled capacity in the current month and compared to the equivalent month in 2023.
