EMIRATES AIRLINES ROUTE NETWORK EXPANSION
In fact, the Dubai-based airline is considering launching scheduled services to a number of destinations in 2025.
China, Vietnam, Finland, Cambodia, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo are among the destinations Emirates is reported to be considering.
Emirates is looking at commencing flights to these destinations:
- Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo
- Brazzaville, Republic of Congo
- Da Nang, Vietnam
- Helsinki, Finland
- Siem Reap, Cambodia
- Chengdu, China
Though there has not yet been an official confirmation from Emirates, sources close to the airline’s network planners state that the launch of new routes is in the pipeline.
Furthermore, Simple Flying states that some of these routes might also be operated as fifth-freedom flights.
EXPANDING INTO CHINA
Emirates’ expansion into the Chinese market comes on the back of some European airlines scaling back their services to the Asian nation.
Services between Europe and China currently encounter obstacles.
Russia has indeed closed its airspace to European carriers.
This makes operating services between these locations costly and difficult for several airlines.
The ongoing conflict with Russia has thus meant that European airlines are forced to fly longer and more indirect routes to China.
This has therefore resulted in additional time and costs for airlines.
