FlySafair will increase the frequency of its regional flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar.
South Africa’s low-cost carrier, FlySafair, will add a third weekly flight to the popular island getaway.
FLYSAFAIR UPS ZANZIBAR FLIGHTS
FlySafair will increase opportunities for travellers to fly directly between South Africa and the island of Zanzibar, within the next few weeks.
From 3 October, the airline will add an additional frequency between Johannesburg and Zanzibar.
The budget airline already operates two flights each week between its Johannesburg hub and the island. Existing services operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
FlySafair will introduce a third flight on this route, operating on Thursdays, from next month.
FLYSAFAIR ROUTE EXPANSION
FlySafair has been quite active in its route development this year, having launched two domestic routes and one cross-border route.
The airline has taken advantage of gaps in the market and is thus using its resources to provide services where opportunity exists.
The addition of these new routes also comes as a result of FlySafair now having aircraft available to start up new services.

NAMIBIA ROUTE
In addition, South Africa’s low-cost carrier FlySafair is also launching another new regional route next month.
The airline will commence scheduled flights between Cape Town International Airport and Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport on 22 October.
Flights will be offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This new service is in fact the airline’s first foray into Namibia.
FlySafair had indeed been eyeing Namibia for some time. However, it could not launch this service due to a lack of aircraft to operate the flights.
”We have been wanting to break into the Windhoek market for a while, but the barrier, until now, has been aircraft availability,” said Kirby Gordon, the Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, per BusinessTech.
