Ethiopian Airlines flew millions of flowers to Europe and the Middle East for this year’s Valentine’s celebration.

FLOWERS ON VALENTINE’S DAY
Valentine’s Day is an important day with much fanfare and reason to celebrate.
It is a day when people typically show their love for each other, traditionally with gifts of flowers but more especially red roses.
Since many countries do not cultivate flowers, they rely on imports of these products from other parts of the world where flowers are grown commercially.
Top flower-producing countries in Africa include Ethiopia and Kenya. In South America, Colombia and Ecuador are included.
ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES
Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Service has successfully transported 50 million stems (4,200 tons) of flowers this Valentine’s season.
These major flower shipments were transported from Addis Ababa, Nairobi, and Bogotá, to key markets in Europe and the Middle East.
Thus, ensuring that fresh flowers reached their destinations in time for loved ones to spoil their Valentines on 14th February.
ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES VALENTINE’S FLOWERS
Ethiopian Airlines is a significant player in the global flowers export market.
The airline provides reliable transport services for flowers and ensures they move efficiently between producers and retailers in faraway lands.
“We’re proud to be a go-to partner in the global flower industry, providing dependable logistics when it counts.” The airline said.
Fresh flowers are highly perishable goods that must be transported by air, under specific conditions to avoid loss.
Ethiopian Cargo plays a pivotal role in delivering fresh, beautiful blooms to loved ones around the world, especially for Valentine’s Day.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that every petal reaches its destination, spreading love and bringing smiles worldwide.” Ethiopian said.

GLOBAL DEMAND FOR FLOWERS
Flowers are frequently thought of as a sentimental product since they are seen to represent love, tranquility or for compliments.
High demand for flowers is typically seen over holidays such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
As a result, global sales and production of flowers are increasing dramatically to meet this need.
