Doha-based Qatar Airways will increase the number of flights it operates to destinations in South Africa for the Northern Hemisphere winter months.
MORE QATAR AIRWAYS FLIGHTS TO SOUTH AFRICA
This is good news for South Africa’s tourist sector, which generally sees higher tourist flows during the South African summer season (October to March).
The additional flights will therefore enable more visitors to travel to South and Southern Africa.
Cape Town will see 12 flights a week – an increase from the current 10 weekly services.
Johannesburg will see 18 flights a week – an increase from the current 14 weekly services.
Qatar’s flights to Durban will remain as currently operated. These are daily services.
Thanks to Qatar Airways’ partnership with Airlink, travelers can easily reach many other destinations across South And Southern Africa.
Qatar Airways took an equity stake in the airline last year.
OTHER AFRICAN ROUTES
Qatar Airways will be increasing frequencies between Doha and Casablanca, Morocco. It will operate five flights a week on this route.
Qatar Airways will expand services on several global routes, facilitating seasonal movements during the winter months – when many northern hemisphere travellers visit warmer climes, for holidays or tourist purposes.
Furthermore, the carrier is set to increase frequencies to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Routes with increased frequencies also include :
Abu Dhabi: from five daily flights to six ; Sharjah: from three daily flights to seven ; London Heathrow: from eight daily flights to 10; Manchester: from 21 weekly flights to 24; Dublin: from 14 weekly flights to 17; Berlin: from 18 weekly flights to 21; Frankfurt: from 18 weekly flights to 21; Madrid: from 14 weekly flights to 17; Toronto: from five weekly flights to 7; São Paulo: from 14 weekly flights to 18; Maldives: from three daily flights to four; Phuket: from three daily flights to four; and Tokyo (Narita): from 11 weekly flights to 14.
